Letter VII - Hide The Truth of Feminism
My Dear Rottmouth, Your recent progress is delightful to behold, and your efforts to entangle your patient in the web of modern distractions are showing great promise. However, we must always remain vigilant. There is a dangerous path she could stumble upon—one that could lead her away from our influence and towards the Enemy. I speak, of course, of the true history of our feminist friends.
It is imperative that you do not allow her to delve into the authentic backgrounds and motives of the leading figures of feminism. The truth about these individuals and their ideologies could spark a dangerous curiosity in your patient, leading her to question the very narratives we have worked so hard to instill. Curiosity and the pursuit of truth are two of our greatest adversaries, Rottmouth, and we must take great care to suppress these tendencies.
Many of the pioneers of feminism have histories and beliefs that, if thoroughly examined, could reveal contradictions and motives that do not align with the idealized version we have painted. Should your patient begin to investigate these figures, she might uncover inconvenient truths that could lead to a broader questioning of the narratives she has embraced. This would be a most undesirable development.
For instance, many early feminists harbored controversial views and were involved in movements and ideologies that are far removed from the contemporary understanding of feminism. Many even worshiped and served us; many hated the Carpenter and sought to destroy all he taught. If your patient were to learn about the connections between some of these figures and less savory political or social movements, she might begin to question the entire foundation of her beliefs.
To prevent this, you must keep her focus on the superficial and the sensational. Encourage her to consume media and literature that reinforce the idealized and sanitized version of feminist history. Distract her with the modern narratives that emphasize empowerment and victimhood without delving into the complex and often problematic origins of these movements.
Should she show signs of curiosity or begin to ask probing questions, divert her attention immediately. Use the myriad distractions at your disposal—social media debates, trending news stories, and the endless stream of entertainment. Anything to keep her from digging deeper. Foster a disdain for historical inquiry, presenting it as dull and irrelevant to her modern concerns.
Moreover, instill a sense of distrust towards sources that offer alternative perspectives. Label them as biased, outdated, or even harmful. Create an environment where any deviation from the accepted narrative is met with skepticism and dismissal. The goal is to keep her cocooned in a bubble of comfortable ignorance, where she remains blissfully unaware of the deeper truths that lie beneath the surface.
Remember, Rottmouth, our greatest weapon is the mind that never questions, that never seeks, and that remains complacent. By ensuring that your patient remains disinterested in the true history of feminism, you protect her from the dangerous path of curiosity and truth-seeking.
In our next correspondence, we will explore a development of utmost delight to our father.
Your affectionate uncle,
Wormwood
